Can you terminate a(ny) probe to the board as a reference (e.g. common) to slightly decrease the loop size?

Also curious where you got the probe holder posts!? Haven’t seen those before.
I also didn’t know the PCBite low profile holders where a thing. I found a good price for those on Mouser compared to others. Those are really fast and easy to use under my microscope for doing rework. Keeping stuff as close to the work surface as possible means I have to adjust my microscope level less.
I have been using these magnetic probe holders for a while and love them. You can attach a lead to the end of the probe, but they also have a solder tab underneath the clamp post.
I have made my entire work surface for rework and debug all magnetic, so it’s super easy to hold stuff in place.
I found the JOYWES LJ018 on AliExpress. $6.79 with $6.73 shipping so around $13.50 for one. I also found this:
Similar. It has 7 probes for about $45 plus $16 shipping. But, Amazon has it for $58, delivery tomorrow. Some complaints about the nut being hard to tighten. I ordered it from Amazon.

I went down the probe stand rabbit hole a year or two ago, The system that you have developed looks very neat, I hate always wanting more hands!! One question is that I tend to find that ‘next year’s project’ will inevitably be too big or something, in which case I end up back to improvising again… e.g.

(this is not a criticism, just that I would think about ways to make it separable or something!)
the best OTS option I’ve seen is the PCBite system (which I think picoscope now rebrand) these are a joy to work with because the weight of the springy cables is just perfect to have no backlash. They also do ones for standard probes which are better, but I bought the pictured one and spent time 3d printing adaptors for my scopes… (waste of time!)[image.png]

I’ve also seen a pair of pliers put to good use like this.
Something where what you have done is very cool would be if you could make the probe wires coaxial (heatshrink and tinfoil?) then the loop size would be very small - this really matters at HF).
