New startup claiming they will make (licensed) Quectel parts in US

We really don’t know the extent of tariffs changing with the incoming administration in the US, but it’s a pretty fair guess that things will change . It’s interesting that this startup is raising funds to bring Quectel manufacturing to Ohio. I am very skeptical that they’ll be able to meet price parity, but perhaps with insane amounts of automation they’ll be able to get close.

I wonder if the federal or state governments are going to see this as a national security issue, especially considering the recent reports of alleged widespread identity theft and espionage by Chinese hackers. Huawei, anyone???
